A board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Sandman provides personalized orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults. He understands firsthand how life-changing orthodontic treatment can be: after experiencing the impact of braces in his own life, he built his career around helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles that make them feel more confident every day.

At Hoboken Orthodontics, Dr. Sandman focuses on making each patient’s treatment experience positive, comfortable, and highly individualized. He takes the time to understand each patient’s goals, explain treatment options clearly, and create a plan designed to deliver the best possible smile and bite. His approach combines clinical precision, modern orthodontic techniques, and a warm, personal style that helps patients and families feel at ease from the first visit through the final result.

Dr. Sandman treats a wide range of orthodontic needs for both children and adults, including braces, aligners, bite correction, smile aesthetics, and comprehensive orthodontic treatment. He is passionate about creating smiles that are not only beautiful, but also healthy, functional, and built to last.

A New Jersey native, Dr. Sandman earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Binghamton University before receiving a Dean’s Merit Scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class. While at Penn, he served as president of the orthodontic society and participated in several academic and leadership organizations. He then completed his specialty training at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, earning a Master of Science in Orthodontics.

Dr. Sandman has also been a leader in the orthodontic profession, including service as president of both the New Jersey Association of Orthodontists and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists. His leadership reflects his commitment to advancing the specialty and delivering the highest standard of care to his patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Sandman lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with his wife, Tamar, and their daughter, Ella. He enjoys family time, fitness, wine blending and tasting, art, reading, writing, and the cultural life of New York City and the surrounding area.

For Dr. Sandman, orthodontics is about more than straight teeth. It is about helping each patient experience the happiness, health, and confidence that come with a smile they love.
